What's New

       PHYSICAL THERAPY / SPEECH THERAPY
Peach State is proud to announce that we have added pediatric physical therapy, and speech therapy to our list of treatment programs available to your child.  Our physical therapy program is now enrolling and will begin February 1st, 2009.  Speech Therapy is now enrolling and will begin March 15th, 2009.  Please get your applications in early as these programs are filling very quickly.

AQUATIC THERAPY
The viscosity of water provides an excellent source of resistance that can be easily incorporated into an occupational therapy or physical therapy program. This resistance allows for muscle strengthening without the need of weights. Using resistance coupled with the water’s buoyancy allows a person to strengthen muscle groups with decreased joint stress. Peach State has secured a fully enclosed and heated pool in Buford that will be used for our upcoming aquatic therapy program.  This program will be conducted by a Peach State Therapist in the water, and supervised by a certified pediatric / infant swim instructor.

HIPPOTHERAPY
Hippotherapy is a treatment that uses the multidimensional movement of a horse to assist in an amazingly effective therapy program.   Specially trained physical, occupational and speech therapists use this medical treatment for clients who have movement dysfunction.  This form of treatment has dated as far back as 460 B.C.  Peach State is in the process of negotiating the lease of a farm in the Buford, GA area. This program will be conducted by one of the leading dressage instructors in the United States.  Certain physical qualifications will be necessary to participate in this program.  Each child's enrollment will be at the discretion of the instructor.
